With seven men running for governor and nearly two dozen candidates running for three open congressional seats, the hardest task may be sorting through the barrage of names, campaign ads and economic rhetoric.

Imprisoned ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has given a deposition in a civil suit by the family of a slain Detroit stripper.
Kilpatrick arrived Thursday at U.S. District Court in Detroit from a federal prison in Milan, Mich. He was questioned for several hours by Norman Yatooma, lawyer for Tamara Greene's three children.
Yatooma won't reveal what Kilpatrick said.

The wife and children of disgraced former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick have moved from Southlake to Grand Prairie, a Detroit newspaper reported this week.
Kilpatrick declined to comment to the Detroit paper or The Dallas Morning News .
A Kilpatrick spokesman announced this month that after Kwame Kilpatrick landed back behind bars, this time for violating his probation, the family moved out of Southlake, where they had lived since December 2008.

A Detroit police officer who claimed he was retaliated against for issuing a ticket to Christine Beatty, the disgraced former chief of staff and lover of former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, is on path to receive a $20,000 settlement in a whistle-blower lawsuit.
A City Council committee today endorsed the settlement and expects the full council to approve the payout at its 4 p.m. meeting Thursday.
